My helper

I couldnt resist posting this photo of my puss Parsley ' helping'  with my Christmas creations!
Its tough work!

Christmas Presents

Despite my best intentions this year I didn't make half as many presents as I would have liked but here are a few that I DID get done. Maybe in 2011 I'll be better organised and start early! Hmm we'll see ....

E for Emma

I painted and embellished a wooden E and then glued it onto a canvas covered in fabric.
Very quick and simple but super cute!

Daniels Room

Room sign made from a Kaisercraft arrow album.
MUCH quicker to use 2 arrows instead of 4 like I did for Lachlan's.

Photo Display

I made this for my wonderful 92 year old Nanna for Christmas.
She loves family photos so this Kaisercraft display board was the perfect project.
The papers and embellishments are from the Kaisercraft range English Rose.
They were absolutely perfect for my Nanna!

My favorite photo of my Nanna and Poppa.
Poppa passed away in May 2010, just a week after the two of them celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Lily's Animal Book

My friend Loz has just had a baby girl so I wanted to make her a book of some sorts.  I found a sheet  of nice bright animal stickers from Kaisercraft that are part of the Fun Fair range and knew they would be perfect for an animal book. I used everything Kaisercraft on this one, wooden album, papers, stickers and embellishments. I wanted to make a ' story' to go on the pages rather than just having the animals name so came up with a poem to match the animal stickers I had.

Mrs Elephant is BIG and grey,
Turtle and Whale splish splashing away,
HELLO Giraffe, you're VERY tall,
Slow moving Snail is oh so small,
Crocodile smiles ... he's looking at you
The little Owl calls ... hoo, hoo, hooo,
LION is king, he wears a crown,
Cheeky Monkey is just hanging around,
Little Birds like to sing a song,
Eight Octopus legs so very LOOONG,
Zebra has stripes in black and white,
Snake is coiled up nice and tight!

Tis the season ....

I'm feeling a bit slack that I haven't posted anything for ages, I've been working on Christmas presents and cards over the last few weeks and seem to come up with all these bright ideas at the last moment.  I keep telling myself .. me and my big ideas!  I do wish these ideas would come to me in June or July and not at the end of November!
Anyway the last of the New Zealand presents were posted today, well almost I have 2 friends that I was planning on making books for but ... they might be New Year presents instead!  And a couple of things to do for family here in Aussie that need to be finished, oh who am I kidding they need to be STARTED! hehe. I'll get there I have a whole weekend before they need to be posted!
I also really want to make a Christmas bunting (or two) and theres the wreath that's still unfinished ..hmmm.
I will post photos in the next day or two of those projects I HAVE finished, once the cards are made and written, just 30 to go, think they might have to be store brought ones, will my friends think any less of me? I hope not!  Tis the season indeed!! :o)

Parsley Book

Parsley was my Christmas present in 2008, a tiny wee 8 week old kitten from the RSPCA who immediately took over our house! Cats have a way of doing that don't they! I made this book as a Christmas gift for my step daughter Jaymee, as she was with us when Parsley arrived and as any 11 year old girl would do, totally feel in love with the little nutty bundle of fur who was, and still is, a real character!

Its made out of a chipboard album (from Riot, about 8 x 5 inches in size) which I totally deconstructed and remade with Kaisercraft Pets Paradise papers and various embellishments.

Because I don't have children Parsley usually takes centre stage in my layouts, and I'm sure you will agree shes VERY photogenic!!

Cover Girl

I found these chip board paw prints in a local store and they were purrfect (sorry couldn't resist) for the cover

Compact Mini Album

I can't claim to have thought up this cool idea myself, as I saw it in a Scrapbook Trends Magazine.  However as someone who likes to recycle (or horde) I hate throwing out a perfectly good container that might be of use for 'something', so when I saw this mini album made out of an old makeup compact I had to try it!
AND can I just say I am pretty happy with the result!

It's made using Kaisercraft Dancing Jewel papers and not much more, a wee bit of ribbon, rub ons,  stickers, pearls and some stamping.

Obviously space is limited so its all about the photos, in this case of all the girls in my family as a present for my mum.

I remembered I had a little dragonfly charm so added it onto the tag.

Sam's Recipe Book

This recipe book was made (for my wonderful friend Sam) using 2 Acrylic albums (4 pages in each album) from Kaisercraft and Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers and embellishments.
The challenge is of course that the back of one page becomes the front of the next, but you just have to position your papers and embellishments so that you cover up any unwanted elements from the previous page!
That's the fun of an acrylic album!!

All new

OK first post .. no idea what I'm actually doing here, but hey how hard can it be? Millions, actually billions of people do this everyday right!
