Book for Marie

This is the first book I have made that wasn't going to a friend or family member. And I have to say I did find it a wee bit challenging as I normally put the photo on the page then work around it.
It was made as a gift for a friend of a friend who in her early 30's was suffering from terminal cancer.
I made this so she could add some photos and hopefully remember better and healthier times.
The papers are from one of my absolute favourite companies Echo Park and the range is Life is Good.
The name of the range may not have been quite right but the sentiments on the embellishment stickers were just perfect for this special project.

Sadly Marie lost her battle with cancer a few weeks ago.

Mini Album

I started this book ages ago but wasn't very inspired by the papers (for some reason manufacturers think all pet papers should be in shades of orange, green and dirty brown. Parsley may be the neighbourhood bully and prone to rolling in the garden, but she is still a girl cat) so I lost interest in it rather quickly.
But it had to be finished, so I tried to make it not so green and orange by adding red, cream and chocolate to the mix, mainly in the form of ribbon, 3 of my favourite colours!
I think despite the uninspiring colours it still makes for a cute mini album.

Storage Solution

This is a neat little storage box by Kaisercraft. It was quite easy to make up, but as with most beyond the page items the sanding and painting takes the most time.
I painted this in black so one coat was all it needed. Nice and quick, just how I like it!!
The papers are from We R Memory Keepers White Out - Hoopla Collection.
I've had them in my stash for ages just waiting for the right project!
